  • Companies Recognized Demonstrated Leadership in Ethical Business Practices

EVANSVILLE, Ind., March 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Ethisphere Institute named Old National Bank as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies for 2012 at an honoree dinner on March 15 in New York City as part of the annual Global Ethics Summit. Old National was the only U.S. companyin the Banking category to receive this honor and one of only 12 companies to have also earned the Ethisphere Institute's annual Ethics Inside Certification. Ethics Inside is the only independent verification of a company's ethics and compliance program and practices.

The World's Most Ethical Companies recognition is reserved for organizations that demonstrate leadership in promoting ethical business standards. These companies go beyond making statements about doing business "ethically" and translate those words into action, introducing innovative ideas to benefit the public and compelling their competitors to follow suit.

The World's Most Ethical Companies have incorporated ethics into business practices whether domestic or international, retail or B2B, and have been able to thrive despite an ever-changing global regulatory environment. Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright shared her insights on the geopolitical environment in her keynote speech at the World's Most Ethical Companies Honoree Dinner.

"Each year the competition for World's Most Ethical Companies intensifies as the number of nominations submitted for consideration grows," said Alex Brigham, Executive Director of Ethisphere. "This year's winners know that a strong ethics program is a key component to a successful business model, and they continue to scrutinize their ethical standards to keep up with an ever-changing regulatory environment."

"This prestigious honor is a powerful reflection of the integrity and ethical commitment of the Old National associates who passionately serve both clients and community," said Old National President and CEO Bob Jones. "In their daily work, they define and shape our culture and personify our commitment to basic community banking."

"It's a humbling and exciting honor, and a true testament to Old National's organization-wide commitment to business ethics and risk management," added Old National Board Chairman Larry Dunigan.

Through in-depth research and a multi-step analysis, Ethisphere reviewed nominations from companies in more than 100 countries and 36 industries.
